Why are you running for office? I am running for reelection because we need to continue to work for health coverage for all Mainers, a fairer tax system and to bring more people into the middle class. I also love the work I do for the people of my community and my state.

Poltical Experience:

North Yarmouth Board of Selectman 2007-2010; Maine House of Representatives 2010 to present. Represented HD # 109, Gray, North Yarmouth and Pownal.

The federal health care law has offered to pay states to expand their Medicaid programs to provide health coverage to low income Mainers. Do you support Medicaid (or MaineCare) expansion?Yes

I have personally seen people lose every thing because they or their child got sick or injured. As a nurse practitioner, I can not stand by and watch individuals suffer and even die because they have not heath insurance.

Reform of the state’s public assistance programs has been the focus of debates in the State House and on the campaign trail. Do you believe that the state’s welfare programs are too generous?Other

What, if anything, would you change about welfare?I think we have to reform our welfare system. We need to give a hand up not a hand out. We should have a tiered welfare system so that having a job will pay more than receiving welfare.

Do you support raising the state’s minimum wage from $7.50 an hour?Yes

By how much?We should increase the minimum wage to $10.10/hour. We should make work be worth it to move people off welfare and out of poverty.

Would you support legalization of marijuana? No

Please explain your position on legalization?Individuals who have mental illness or at risk of mental illness can have severe reactions to marijuana. I support medical marijuana.
